It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. As I walked through the stores just after Halloween I was reminded that the Christmas season was just around the corner and realized that in less than 6 weeks I would be hanging stockings and setting up the tree.
Our tree at Sooke Ocean Resort is 14' high and takes several strings of lights as well as many decorations. Last year we used over 400 decorations on the tree. I have to admit putting it up was way more fun than having to take it down. The question is Am I looking forward to putting up the tree again this year? YES, of course....Christmas time in one of my favorite times of the year. It's not about the shopping or the gifts we receive and give .... to me it's sharing time with friends and family that means the most. It's about spending time with loved ones ~ sharing friendships ~ and being together. In fact the I believe the best gift of all is the gift of giving yourself along with friendship, love and family.
So this season when you are thinking of gift giving think of sharing a little more of yourself .... volunteer for your child's school PAC, become a member of your local Chamber of Commerce, bake some cookies for a neighbour and enjoy the holiday spirit!
